In September 2021, Ropni Metyktire, better known as Cacique Raoni, Kayapó leadership, was awarded Honorary Membership at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, in recognition of his outstanding service to nature conservation and natural resources, in addition to their contribution to achieving the Union's objectives.
