As someone who spent years advocating and implementing decentralized communication between hospitals and clinics in Brazil almost a decade ago, this warms my heart and fills me with hope.

I think he is exploring how to establish HZ in his organization, at the time being for non-core communication.

I myself am advocating it as an institutional offer of universities rather than leaving campus life, study work, and faculty social communication to the #datafarm services (WhatsApp and the like). This migh have the positive side effects that universities can cross-connect, students can easily connect to friends and family outside, too, and have a mobile idenity during studies and, if desired, for take-away after graduation). But in my role, I cannot do more than point out its existence and chances.

No, I have not, so thank you the more for the interesting link. Good things happening on several places in Germany :-) Although I understand the mechanisms keeping the data farms in the mainstream, but I think grassroots movements can make a difference, and it fits the character of the Fediverse...
